About Me

Hello, my name is Roman Fernando Martinez.

I recently graduated with honors from The University of Texas at San Antonio, where I obtained my bachelor's in computer science. with a concentration in software engineering.

My passions lie in creating engaging websites for the public use, utilizing tools such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React, as well as Node.js. Additionally, I have experience with Unity, C, Python, and more.

I want to thrive in turning creative ideas into functional websites and applications. I am excited to bring my skills and enthusiasm to new projects and continuously learn and grow in the ever-evolving field of web development.

Moving forward, I want this portfolio to host my projects, as well as my personal notes and original design layouts to document my growth.

EphemereNov. 2023 - Nov. 2023

Designer and backend contributor to "Ephemere," a social platform that allows users to send publicly viewable letters to others anonymously, which disappear after 24 hours. This was the first project where I utilized ReactJS for the user interface, Node.js with Express.js for handling server-side logic, and MongoDB.

The Legend Of PatrickJun. 2023 - Aug. 2023

Sole developer of a game demo titled "The Legend of Patrick", a 2D platformer inspired by modern classics such as Super Meat Boy and Celeste . The game incorporates abilities reminiscent of those in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Built using Unity, this project marks my first foray into game design, where I took on roles in art direction, sound design, game music composition, and more. The game was recently published and is available to play online.
